BHK Participates in Giving Tuesday 2025!

BHK Child Development is honored to be one of the participating non-profits for the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation’s Giving Tuesday event. Your charitable donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $200,000 thanks to Copper Shores Amplification Fund. Donations are open November 11^th  and run through December 2^nd.

"Again! Again!" The precious words from a toddler, eager to hear a favorite story, reminds us of the magic that books bring into a child’s life. Reading with children not only strengthens emotional bonds, but also expands vocabulary, nurtures curiosity, and ignites imagination.

This Giving Tuesday, BHK is committed to putting more books into the hands of children at the age when it matters most. With the help of community partners, we will install ten Little Free Libraries at our centers across Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties. These libraries will provide easy access to books, ensuring children can discover new stories again and again.

The funds raised during Giving Tuesday will support the construction and installation of the libraries, as well as the purchase of charter signs. BHK staff, along with dedicated volunteers, will serve as stewards for the libraries, making sure they are stocked with age-appropriate, engaging books.
